Summer Nail Picks + Advice

Believe it or not, summer is right around the corner! Time goes so fast these days; I still feel like I pulled out my  UGG collection yesterday!

With summer, comes nail polish, and with nail polish, comes the ever-heated debate of colors. Which color is "this summer"? What kind of enamel should I wear my polish in? Is glitter acceptable nowadays?

Here's a brief  of what polishes you should be sporting this season:
Bright, vibrant nails in neon and "hot" colors (red, orange, and yellow) are going to be painted on nails like crazy. These colors are amazing when color blocking (mix some neutral shades of white and silver in) and goes along perfectly with the upcoming wild, flashy fashion trend. Steer clear of glitter, as it looks strange when paired with neon colors. As for matte nails, they're in, but they're not crazy hot yet. It's safer to play your nails with the original, glossy surface on top. (And in my opinion, looks nicer with brighter colors.)

Advice I would give to nail polish and manicure seekers-and-doers this season is to steer clear of any plum colors or elaborate designs. Keep it simple with a solid color - the furthest you should really go is color blocking. Floral is a tad bit yesterday, and no one appreciates the look of unhealthy and untrimmed nails blotted with rhinestones and whimsy swirls. Natural and simple is the best way to go this season!
